No time to dash-over to Bergdorf Goodman? No problem. Starting today, Alexander McQueen will be available via the click of a mouse with the just added e-commerce function to his Web site at alexandermcqueen.com.
For lucky (and eager), shoppers living in Manhattan, same day delivery is offered for $50 if your order is placed before noon. As of now the e-commerce function only ships throughout the United States, but worldwide shipping options are slated for the near future.
Like his two flagship boutiques (Meatpacking District in Manhattan and the corner of Melrose and Orlando Avenues in West Hollywood), you can browse and shop McQueen’s fall/winter 2008 collection, including both men and women and looks from the runway and accessories on his website.
Of note are the Goat Patent Large Tote ($2,100), Funnel Neck Asymmetric Dress (1,425), a Bustier Shot chiffon top ($2,340), and a Gypsy evening dress ($5,695).
The site also has sections where you can learn more about the avant-garde designer, watch videos of his runway shows, and find out about special projects in which he is involved. Of note is a contest the company created to celebrate the e-commerce launch. Shoppers can register to win two tickets to McQueen’s spring 2009 runway show during Paris’ Fashion Week in October.
