Zac Posen presented a high glmarourous collection that would jump right from the catwalk to the red carpet, as gowns with waist-defining, hourglass silhouettes that came in Black, gray, navy, jade, blush, mint, and brick red. Showing smart tailoring, corsets and boning, fishtail skirts, plunging necklines and textural details the resemble Old Hollywood glamour.

Zac Posen's show is always a scene. Tonight, he had Schnabel père et fille in one corner, Claire Danes and Jada Pinkett Smith in another, and Venus Williams and Serena Williams smack-dab in the middle—everywhere you looked there were flashbulbs popping. In seasons past, Posen has displayed a deft hand for tailoring, but that wasn't his focus here. Instead, there were mostly dresses with a few minis and suede biker jackets thrown in aimed at that other kind of 9-to-5er: the type who makes a business of party-hopping.

Parker + Wintour To Host Obama Fashion Show

Actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are to host a fundraising fashion show for U.S. presidential contender Barack Obama during Fashion Week in New York City.

The catwalk show on 9 September at the Charles Nolan Studio will feature designs from fashion favourites Beyonce Knowles' House of Dereon, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen.

It's the latest fashionable fundraiser Wintour has hosted for Obama - she teamed up with Calvin Klein in June to aid the Democrat's campaign.

Here are the very first wedding pictures of talk show host Ellen DeGenres and actress Portia de Rossi

Ellen, 50, and Portia, 35, tied the knot in front of 19 guests during an intimate ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills, California, Saturday night.

Portia wore a backless, light pink dress, while Ellen opted for pants, button-up shirt and vest — all in white. Both wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane.

The couple have been dating since December 2004.

A New York Fashion Week

IT's been a long time coming but finally, a relatively firmed-up version of the New York Fashion Week schedule has arrived - and it was worth the wait.

The fashion action will kick off a day before a collection even hits the catwalk with a gala event at Saks Fifth Avenue on the evening of September 4, in anticipation of the 70th anniversary of the The Wizard of Oz in 2009; but that'll prove no excuse for a late start the following morning, as designer Michael Angel gets things started show-wise at 9am.

"We couldn't be more enthusiastic about the fantastic schedule we have planned for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this season," says IMG fashion senior vice president Fern Mallis. "Once again we are showcasing both the most well-known and up and coming designers in the world."

Over eight days, count Calvin Klein, Diane Von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors, Perry Ellis and Badgley Mischka among the list.

Add into the mix DKNY showing in the tents for the first time since 2002 to commemorate its upcoming 20-year anniversary and a confirmed front row appearance by Justin Timberlake at the catwalk outing of his label William Rast - and that's just for starters - and next season is already looking pretty spectacular.

Spot the Missing Designer!

“America’s New Fashion Guard” receives the full Vanity Fair treatment in the September issue. We couldn’t help but notice a few surprises. First, Peter Som (an established designer who’s currently helming two of New York’s most talked-about labels) and Zac Posen (recepient of more press than our Vice President) are considered up-and-coming talent. Eh, maybe we’ve known them all for so long that we forget they’re not as ubiquitous as, say, Ralph and Donna. And on the Marchesa front, we see Georgina Chapman front and center, but Keren Craig is absent from the photo, and she’s not even mentioned in the accompanying text. We know Craig was recently married; could she have been on her honeymoon?

Tennis, anyone? This season, Zac Posen transported his muse to a retro country club resort. The outcome: zany mixed prints, including a photographic floral-print skirt and a leopard-print blouse, pajama-style suits and plenty of sexy draped dresses for evening.

As if we didn't already wish we had a Target in the UK already here comes the news that Zac Posen is designing a range for the retailer in Australia. The New York-based designer has come with with two collections called 'Glamour' and 'Tailoring' (see below) featuring classic pieces including draped dresses and gorgeously cut trouser suits.
The showpiece of the collection is a stunning red dress modelled on the fishtail gown Katherine Heigl wore to the Emmys last year. It comes in red and black and retails at 299.99 AUD which the most expensive item in the collection. My personal favourite is the cowl neck jersey dress (above) which retails at 139.99 AUD.
