3.1 Philip Lim: Spring/Summer 2012

Phillip Lim's Spring 2012 collection was sports theme with relaxed vs. structured shapes and sporty layers for his 3.1 Philip Lim collection; the palette of soft pastels like limoncello, lilac, and shell pink; offset with black, white, ivory, and khaki. Flowing clothes, made from silk, include side-slit trousers to delicate dresses with geometric ruffles and striping details. There were sporty pieces include outwear jacket, racer tops and masculine, boxy tailoring.

Spot the Missing Designer!

“America’s New Fashion Guard” receives the full Vanity Fair treatment in the September issue. We couldn’t help but notice a few surprises. First, Peter Som (an established designer who’s currently helming two of New York’s most talked-about labels) and Zac Posen (recepient of more press than our Vice President) are considered up-and-coming talent. Eh, maybe we’ve known them all for so long that we forget they’re not as ubiquitous as, say, Ralph and Donna. And on the Marchesa front, we see Georgina Chapman front and center, but Keren Craig is absent from the photo, and she’s not even mentioned in the accompanying text. We know Craig was recently married; could she have been on her honeymoon?

Net-A-Porter Cruise 2009 Preview

I think it was one of the hottest days of the year in London, so it was quite apt that NET-A-PORTER previewed their 2009 Cruise collection today, which they kindly invited me to.

There were some well established designers already on Net-A-Porter like Oscar de la Renta, 3.1 Philip Lim, Juicy Couture, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, and there were also some newer designers like Preen, Richard Nicholl and Elizabeth & James.
The jewel in the crown was definitely this fuschia pink Preen dress, which has been especially commissioned for Net-A-Porter by Preen's British designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi.

I think this dress would look great on Rihanna.

You may recognise this dress, as it has been worn by Amy Winehouse, Gwyneth Paltrow and Agyness Deyn. The designers reissue this beautiful dress every season.
What I excitedly spotted whilst shifting through the racks was Daisy Lowe's MCQ dress, which she wore to the Glamour of The Year Awards this year.

You'll also be able to buy are Jonathan Saunders colourful designs, RM by Roland Mouret well structured pieces and Oscar de la Renta's classics full of colour. and texture. The orange caftan is so beautiful. It is almost like a red carpet gown, as it has a train.

It is perfect for those holidays on the yacht or in the Caribbean.
