MTV & The Body Shop

Talk about getting lippy! MTV and The Body Shop have joined forces and launched the “Move Your Lips” campaign, which includes selling a limited-edition Guarana Lip Butter for parched puckers to raise money for HIV/AIDS awareness.

Proceeds from the product, sold in Body Shop stores worldwide, will go directly to the Staying Alive Foundation, the MTV HIV/AIDS charity,

“which gives monetary awards to young people, globally, who run their own youth-focused HIV and AIDS awareness projects,” according to the Foundation.

So far Staying Live has given out over $450,000 to more than 80 projects. The previous MTV-Body Shop collaboration, Spray To Change, entirely funded last year’s awards.

And while the model’s good looks may be instantly recognizable, it’s not just her beauty that accounts for the supermodel’s selection.

Explains Revlon’s President and CEO David Kennedy, “Elle’s special qualities as a businesswoman, beautiful and talented model, actress and mother represent the essence of the Revlon brand.” In addition to starring in a world-wide advertising campaign, Elle’s role with Revlon will focus on another important part of her life: philanthropy.

“I am proud to join Revlon in its celebration of women, and in its long-term commitment and support for education and research to advance women’s health and particularly to fight women’s cancers,” she says.

Either way it looks like an interesting collection of photographs, and per i-D tradition she's winking in almost all the images.

She's well known for her eclectic musical style, having attitude to burn and out-there fashion choices, so it comes as no surprise Marc Jacobs handpicked M.I.A.to be the face of his Marc by Marc Jacobs line for spring/summer 2008.

It seems the talented singer, who recently claimed she was turned away from the designer's fashion week party last season, is now on the inner with Marc. She DJ-ed at his New York show after-party last month, and was photographed by Juergen Teller for the new campaign. The photos have been doing the rounds on the 'net for a little while now and are currently hitting all the glossies.

Giles Deacon for New Look

Deacon's Gold collection for New Look is instore today and it's stripes a-plenty by the looks of it. Modelled by Brit fave Agyness Deyn the collection has everything from sunnies to shoes and goes up to £50 for the striped trench coat.

I'm not such a fan of monochrome stripes but I love the denim ruffle dress and the denim pencil skirt. The batwing jumper is also on my wishlist as it looks like something I might come across in a charity shop without the acrylic itch or the polyester sweat! D & G

Italian authorities have announced that they are investigating Dolce & Gabbana for tax evasion. So far, it has been reported that neither Domenico Dolce nor Stefano Gabbana have been named in the investigation, but that their eponymous fashion group could be up for $192 million in unpaid taxes and fines.
But that's not all, earlier last week, WWD reported that in a separate inquiry, the tax man was also after D&G Industria SpA to pay a fine of $3.1 million for failing to declare sales of stock by a third-party company to distributors.
None of this, however, seems to have impacted on the designers' back pockets. It is alleged that they are currently looking at properties to buy, including a monastery in Milan, worth an estimated $38 million. D&G reps are yet to respond.
It would make a super place to hide if/when the tax man comes a knocking.

Claudia Schiffer

Last year it was Victoria Beckham and this year it's Claudia Schiffer who joins the judging panel for Graduate Fashion Week (GFW).
Title sponsors, River Island, announced the supermodel's addition to the panel yesterday in which she will assist in judging the River Island Gold Award.
"I have always believed that the UK has a unique energy, it's such a melting pot of new ideas, with an influence that is so far reaching, I am never surprised to hear so many English accents in design studios all over the world," she said.
This year, GFW moves from Battersea Park to Earls Court 2. It will be held from 8th June - 11th June, 2008.

this is one of the first pics of the model of the moment wearing the latest Giles Deacon Gold collection for New Look.

Apparently this collection - which hits the rails on 19th March - is "inspired by eclectic LA glamour and the Californian sunshine and this seasons prints, pleats and geometric stripes.

The colour palette includes the softest marshmallow pink, dove grey and pistachio mixed with classic navy and rich black."
Pictures we've seen so far show the collection to have more of a graphic, 80s spin than previous offerings from Gold.

The reaction from fashion bloggers to this point has been very hit and miss for Giles' foray into the high street, but perhaps Aggy's help will make a change for the better?

Though pricey, the line is a lesson in well-made simple chic. The high-waisted trousers (£175) don't have as long a crotch as appears in this photo and would probably look better on a slightly curvier figure (joy!) and the cropped tuxedo jacket is beautiful in the flesh.

Though it'll still be a while before most of us have £100 to throw away on a t-shirt or £400 on a jacket, I will say I was pleasantly surprised to find the quality of this line was more Prada than Primark, and it didn't just rely on the name
