Fashion Stars To Toast Themselves on Wall Street!

Gwen Stefani to redesign Dorothy’s shoes

Singer turned designer Gwen Stefani has been selected as one of 19 designers to interpret the Wizard of Oz's Dorothy’s iconic red shoes. With a lot of help from Swarovski, Gwen, under her L.A.M.B label will create her own version of the ruby slippers to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz next year. The event also solidifies Gwen's status as a bonafide designer, taking part in the project alongside the likes of Alberta Ferretti, Christian Louboutin, Diane von Furstenberg, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Roger Vivier and more.
The designs, will be officially unveiled in Saks Fifth Avenue's windows and designer shoe salon during an event on 4 September. The shoes will then be displayed at the tents at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week before making a tour of the US and eventually being auctioned off for charity.

Net-A-Porter Cruise 2009 Preview
I think it was one of the hottest days of the year in London, so it was quite apt that NET-A-PORTER previewed their 2009 Cruise collection today, which they kindly invited me to.
There were some well established designers already on Net-A-Porter like Oscar de la Renta, 3.1 Philip Lim, Juicy Couture, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, and there were also some newer designers like Preen, Richard Nicholl and Elizabeth & James.

The jewel in the crown was definitely this fuschia pink Preen dress, which has been especially commissioned for Net-A-Porter by Preen's British designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi.
I think this dress would look great on Rihanna.
You may recognise this dress, as it has been worn by Amy Winehouse, Gwyneth Paltrow and Agyness Deyn. The designers reissue this beautiful dress every season.

You'll also be able to buy are Jonathan Saunders colourful designs, RM by Roland Mouret well structured pieces and Oscar de la Renta's classics full of colour. and texture. The orange caftan is so beautiful. It is almost like a red carpet gown, as it has a train.
It is perfect for those holidays on the yacht or in the Caribbean.
