Jennifer Lopez: Guest Judge on Project Runway Season Finale

This just in from out and about:

The guest judge for the final Project Runway this season has been leaked and it's none other than Jennifer Lopez.
It's a little comical considering that her own foray into fashion design sort of fizzled and died, but we guess what works for TV doesn't exactly work on the runway.

Maybe she'll wear Versace again?

Or maybe we'll want to throw ourselves onto Sixth Avenue when her entourage / car cavalcade / fanfare clogs the Tent entrance Friday morning.

Project Catwalk dropped from Sky1

Sky1 has axed the Kelly Osbourne-fronted fashion series Project Catwalk and said it wants new "female-friendly" shows to replace it.

Project Catwalk, which aims to discover new fashion designers, was based on the US format Project Runway, fronted by supermodel Heidi Klum.

The show, made by Elisabeth Murdoch's Shine independent production company, follows a group of fashion designers as they compete against each other to win the competition.

Project Catwalk launched in the UK in January 2006, with Elizabeth Hurley as host and designer Ben de Lisi as fashion mentor.

However, Hurley was replaced by Osbourne for the second run last year, with the third series airing in January this year.

A Sky1 spokesman confirmed the show would not return.
"Project Catwalk was a great addition to Sky1's schedule," he said. "Kelly Osbourne, Ben de Lisi and the team have provided a fantastic platform for genuine talent, introducing the rising stars of fashion to the UK.

"We felt the series had come to a natural end and we're now looking for some new female-skewed formats for the 8pm slot to complement our success in the 9pm and 10pm hours."

The Sky1 controller, Richard Woolf, added: "We have done three seasons of Project Catwalk. I want to find other shows that will go in that slot. 8pm is a real opportunity. What we really need are some more female-friendly formatted shows."

The show pulled in just over 110,000 viewers for its last series in January. Last year's second run averaged around 300,000 viewers.

Damn Heidi Klum... and her £1.1 million legs

With make-up, or without make-up, with sunglasses or without, Heidi Klum is one stunning lady. Here she is in New York at the Conan O'Brien show, emulating Victoria Beckham in an all-black ensemble including Grecian goddess dress, shades, and Christian Louboutin heels. The host of Project Runway spoke to Conan about how her left leg is insured for £100,000 less than her right leg (together they're worth £1.1m) because it is scarred.

Project Runway Countdown

Project Runway is everything I want in a show. It's high drama, high style and filled with celebrity judges. A little bridie leaked this seasons guest judges and they range from young style maker Natalie Portman to Stylist extraordinare, Rachel Zoe.

So come this Wednesday(US time, UK time wait until winter time or something) the show will open with 16 new designers all rounded up by the incomprable Tim Gunn. Who doesn't love Gunny? See all the details at Bravos site.

PROJECT RUNWAY SEASON 6 CASTING

Project Runway has distinguished itself as the holy grail of reality television; the past 4 seasons have given us high drama, memorable freaks, and genuine talent.

No one knows what the show will look like in Season 6--when it moves from Bravo and New York City to Lifetime and spends some time in Los Angeles--but Project Runway is so well established that the station move might freshen it up without ruining it.

If you're as curious as we are (and infinitely better with a sewing machine) Project Runway is casting now.
The application (due July 9) consists of three parts:
* A personal video
* A "virtual portfolio"
* A completed application questionnaire,
available for download on the website.

Nina Garcia

Nina Garcia has left her job as Fashion Director at Elle magazine…..and it's not pretty.
Word on the street is that she was "let go." However, there is no official explanation for her sudden departure.
It remains uncertain if this development will affect Nina's role as a judge on Project Runway, but we'd hate to see her go there too!
