MTV takes you behind the scenes as Britain’s coolest high street stores Topshop and Topman open in the Big Apple
The wait is almost over! Britain's fabulous glamorous catwalk competition returns in April 20, 2009 for its fifth series! Boasting its biggest and most beautiful line up to date, Lisa Snowdon returns to present the show. Joining her on the judging panel is Icelandic photographer and Creative Director Huggy Ragnarsson. We're also excited to announce new judge - hat designer extraordinaire Louis Mariette! This time there will be 20 girls and they must first face a brand new challenge - boot camp! The models in training will be put through their paces, and those that don't shape up will be sent packing, leaving the rest to fight their way down the catwalk in the hope of becoming Britain's Next Top Model. Who will make it past Boot Camp? What will come of Hayley - the model who YOU voted in! Which leading designers and celebs will the girls be meeting? Kate Moss with Sir Philip GreenThe onslaught of fashion-oriented TV programming continues with the announcement that BBC Two will soon be screening a style series of their own.
First off, we have Channel 4's Gok's Fashion Fix, the upcoming Frock Me! with Alexa Chung for T4, Abbey Clancey's The Fashion Project with Geroge Lamb for ITV2, and now British Style Genius for BBC Two.
It's like TV land just woke up one day and realised that there is a mass-market audience who like clothes.
Well, for a starters it is a documentary format, which examines how style in Britain has been influenced and shaped by the many different trends over the years. It will look at all the varying aspects from high street to high-end couture, from Savile Row tailoring to "chav", exploring what makes the British sense of style of today so unique from the rest of the world. It will also feature contributions from Twiggy, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and Kate Moss who will appear in meetings with Topshop boss Sir Philip Green, and trying on clothes.
After the success of Gok Wan's fashion fix for channel 4, other networks have realised that people will watch shows about fashion. ITV look to be second off the mark with a new fashion based show that due to air soon.

Rumours abound that Henry Holland and Alexa Chung are going to present a T4 fashion show and the latest is that it will be called 'Frock Me'... geddit?
Alexa Chung doesn't have any formal fashion credentials but thanks to her quirky style she's become a bit of a fashion icon for the indie crowd and topped the Guardians Summer Cool List. It'll be interesting to see her pair up with Henners, hopefully they'll hit it off and have us chuckling through our hangovers.
Titled The Fashion Project, Clancy will co-host along with spunky radio presenter George Lamb, on the all-out fashion programme which is said to include celebrity guests, a live band, catwalk show, and a studio audience - sounds a little like Top Gear for the fashion crowd if you ask moi!
