Anna Wintour is the latest fashion industry dignitary to be made an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
The editor-in-chief of American Vogue was recently named in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours List, for her services to British journalism and fashion in the U.S.
Beginning her career at just 16, the London-born editor dropped out of school, before going on to find success across the pond at New York and Home & Garden magazines.
"I am totally thrilled at this recognition, particularly since it coincides with my 20th anniversary as editor of American Vogue," Wintour said Friday.
