Celebrity portrait photographer Rankin (click to go to website, above) has joined forces with Coca-Cola to release a limited edition glass bottle celebrating the handover of the Olympic Flag from Beijing to London next Sunday.
The bottle, which will be available exclusively at Selfridges for £1.99, fuses Rankin's distinctive style with a design that captures the spirit of London and the Olympics.
"As a Londoner, I love what the city represents - the vibrancy, the strength and the energy - so to reflect that with an image, which also represents the Olympics, was a fantastically exciting challenge for me as a photographer," says Rankin. "It was made even more compelling for me to do it in collaboration with Coca-Cola, and using the iconic contours and shape of the glass bottle."
"The simplicity of the image speaks a thousand words: these two strong hands encapsulate the positive spirit of Londoners, and the passing of the white rose, symbolising the handing of the Olympic baton to London, also represents harmony, hope and aspirations."
Rankin joins the ranks of other big names that have had their creative visions applied to the iconic Coca-Cola glass bottle, including Andy Warhol, Manolo Blahnik and Matthew Williamson.
Recently Roberto Cavalli designed bottles for Coca Cola light.
