Christian Siriano: launching Maternity Collection

Christian Siriano is launching a maternity collection. Though he's showing his regular collection on September 11 during Fashion Week, he's already got a full maternity line under his belt for spring 2009.

Siriano teamed up with his two friends Marta Abrams and Elise Rosemarin, founders of Moody Mamas maternity clothes, to create a collection called Fierce for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano. Fierce? It already has originality written all over it!

A Moody Mamas rep told us he signed on because he thought it would be great for a gay man to team up with two women who've never had a baby to do maternity clothes.

It seems from these sketches of Siriano's designs the threesome has created some interesting pieces for you baby makers. Already we see tummy-flattering garments like a pleated baby-doll dress and a purple wraparound sweater that could easily give A Pea in the Pod a run for its money.

Christian Siriano & Estelle & Puma

While we’re still waiting for stylish Brit Victoria Beckham to start rocking Christian Siriano’s designs, the Project Runway winner has teamed up with another English singer to show off his new mini clothing collection for Puma.

Shine chanteuse — and Kanye West collaborator — Estelle helped Christian unveil the first item from the fifteen-piece line at her record release party at a Manhattan club last night. Siriano created her distinctive ruffle-neck dress by deconstructing three existing Puma tanks.

What’s more, he’s dubbed the R&B artist a muse. He tells PEOPLE, “For me it’s really exciting because it’s great to work with an artist that wants to be more creative and more fashion forward. That’s why I love her. I mean how fabulous is she?” We definitely think the dress is pretty fabulous and can’t wait to see more.

Christian Siriano on Ugly Betty

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano, who was famously spoofed on Saturday Night Live, is back on TV, playing himself in on ABC’s Ugly Betty in an episode airing May 1.

The plot: Mode magazine is trying to convince Christian to work with them for a fashion spread instead of their competitors. So the designer shows up for a meeting with an entourage of models wearing his designs and Runway judge Nina Garcia, who also plays herself on the episode.
“Filming Ugly Betty was amazing,” Siriano, 22, tells PEOPLE.
“The cast was the most fun, lively and supportive ever.”

In addition to the outfits he designed for his model pals, the Runway winner also whipped up a look for Becki Newton (Amanda) — who happens to be a huge Christian fan.
