Dazed & Confused Russia #0 : Sasha Pivovarova

The first news on the launch of D&C Russia appeared when Alexander Lebedev, the Russian oligarch, bought D&C license, reportedly for his London-based son, Evgeniy.
In spring it became clear that the team behind Russian edition will be the one that worked on the online-publication LAM Magazine [much acclaimed by Dazed&Confused and Jefferson Hack – jk]. Hack personally came to Moscow to overview the work on the zero issue. Almost all summer long the crowd discussed how the publication would look like and who was going to score editor-in-chief position. The issue had to be out in fall. But then the crisis came.
The zero issue still made it in print by the circulation of 1000.The first issue will be out in April or September - depends on Financial crisis.

Rumour: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley out at Burberry?

It seems Burberry has a no tolerance policy for drugs — the house cancelled its campaign with Kate Moss back in 2005 after tabloid pictures of her snorting cocaine surfaced, and now it's phased out Fall 2008 ad campaign Rosie Huntington-Whiteley after pictures of her with a drug pipe appeared in July. Her replacement is said to be Eden Clark (who together cover Nov UK Vogue), although Burberry would not confirm the choice.

Psst... Is this the real reason why Matthew Williamson left Pucci?

Yesterday, Matthew Williamson waved goodbye to Pucci for the final time (pictured, above) - more on that later. After presenting his last collection for the Florentine label, Williamson will be hanging up his boots leaving Peter Dundas to take over his role as artistic director.

However, after reading Imogen Fox's piece in the Guardian yesterday, I wonder whether there is more to this story than the official line that Williamson leaving to focus on his namesake label.

"Recently there have been criticisms that the label was starting to look more like the designer's signature line," she writes.

Pucci bosses are also rumoured to have been unhappy over Williamson's multitasking and travelling, particularly as he expands his label out in the U.S.

"In a recent interview, Laudomia Pucci, daughter of the company's founder, Emilio, stated how important it is that Dundas will be based in Florence. He has a strong print background and although he is currently collaborating with a Parisian furrier, he will no doubt have fewer distractions than Williamson," she added.

Stay tuned for our coverage from the Pucci S/S 2009 show - coming up!
