After a romantic outing in Engeyum Kadhal, Prabhudeva is back with a commercial pot-boiler on the lines of Pokkiri with Vedi. Joining hands with Vishal, he has rendered a movie that is racy, pacy from the word go.
With the celebrated choreographer directing this Telugu remake (Sowriyam), there is style and richness all through. The movie has Sameera Reddy sharing the screen with Vishal.
The first half of the movie sees Prabhakaran (Vishal) chased by few men. He manages to take refuge in Kolkata. There he meets Deepa (Poonam Kaur) and asks her for a room to stay.
In the meantime, Prabhakaran runs into talkative and chirpy Paro (Sameera Reddy) and her gang of friends. Paro comes to know the other side of Prabhakaran. and as expected falls for him.
A flashback reveals that Prabhakaran has scores to settle in his life. There is underworld which had created an impact in his routine.
Vishal plays his part well. It is the Vishal that we have seen in so many films in the past. He romances and he fights. Sameera Reddy is tailor-made for the role. Tall and cute Sameera Reddy has more to do than just romancing the hero on screen. Poonam Kaur is impressive in her role.
Music by Vijay Antony is fits the story. Racy songs for commercial films are unwritten rule which he follows it well. Cinematography by R D Rajasekhar captures the mood at its best.
A commercial mass movie has certain grammar and rules. Prabhudeva has sincerely followed them. But for a cliched and seen-before scenes, the movie is an interesting time pass.
